Japanese Traditional Version of KUROKAGE Non-Stick Coating VG10 Chef Knives by Sakai Takayuki

The Japanese traditional handle versions of KUROKAGE (“shadow black” in Japanese) Non-Stick Coating knives has successfully been launched, good combination of blade color and traditional urushi handle.

Kengata Chef Knife (Gyuto 190mm, Santoku 160mm)

The blades feature beautiful black & Hammer-patterned blades with a core of VG10 high carbon stainless steel with a hardness of 60-61 HRC, which provides excellent edge retention.

The Blade with Non-Stick Coating

The handles on these knives are Half Rounded Octagonal Oak wood dyed Japanese Lacquered (Urushi) that recalls the images of Japanese tradition.

Gyuto 210mm, 240mm

The KUROKAGE is more evolutionarily advanced than MAC Non-Stick Coating knife series. Because not only the blade is coated with fluorine resin to prevent being adhered and to get extreme surface smoothness but also the hammered concavo-convex texture of KUROKAGE encourages the non-stick function.
